I’m Gabe Hilado, a software engineer and the founder of Zenpo Software Innovations, LLC.
I started this blog in 2009 to write about SharePoint and ASP.NET—usually something I was building, configuring, or trying to get working. The original name was “Gabe Hilado’s SharePoint and ASP.NET Blog.” That explains the domain.
The idea was simple: share the work and what I learned along the way—something for a developer-minded audience.
A lot has changed since then. I still spend plenty of time working with SharePoint, although these days that means SharePoint Framework (SPFx), React, and Microsoft 365. Much of my recent work has gone into building Zenpo Intranet Suite, which has supplied more writing material than I’ve managed to publish.
This is where I talk shop. Short posts about bugs I chased, decisions I made, assumptions that didn’t survive testing, and small details that turned out to matter. Sometimes a code snippet or screenshot explains it best. Sometimes the interesting part is why I changed my mind.
I also write about Copilot and other AI capabilities as I try them and figure out where they’re useful in my work.
Some posts come from current experiments. Others revisit completed work and notes that sat unpublished for too long. I’m writing from my own experience, including the parts that took several attempts.
The older articles are still here, too. Keep their publication dates in mind: a SharePoint fix from 2010 belongs to a very different version of the platform.
I write more formally over at Zenpo.ai. Here, I’m happy to leave a useful note for the next developer who runs into the same thing.
